Kenneth R. Myers Memorial Pool

Located in the heart of Winooski, the Kenneth R. Myers Memorial Pool has been a place of welcoming, opportunity, recreation, and growth for community members since 1975. The Myers Memorial Pool was originally opened in the mid 70’s to provide a low-cost recreation option during the summer months. The original pool remained a community hub that fostered new friendships, childhood memories, and communal gatherings until the pool was temporarily closed in 2016 for a complete renovation. The City, with the support of the Myers Memorial Pool Foundation, undertook the 3-year process of designing and engineering a new facility to continue driving the legacy of the original Myers Pool onwards for future generations!

“The Kenneth R. Myers Memorial Pool has always been and will always be one of my favorite places in Winooski. My grandfather’s vision for the pool was to make sure that our community had an affordable place to go in the summer months where they could spend the day with their families. For years, the pool has welcomed neighbors from just about everywhere to experience something special, especially for those who didn’t have much. I was just a kid in the 80’s when I joined the swim team, I loved connecting with my friends and siblings when everyone needed a place to cool down and hang out. When the pool was shut down in 2016, I felt it was my duty as a Winooski resident and member of the Myers family to see that my grandfather’s vision and hard work wouldn't be forgotten. With the support and dedication of my neighbors, we formed the Winooski Pool Committee and I’m proud of the work we accomplished to help renovate the facility. My uncle, Jeff Myers, son of Kenneth R. Myers, started the Kenneth R. Myers Memorial Pool Foundation, which secured $300,000 to ensure the process was a success. The foundation remains open to ensure a long and successful future for the pool, and we hope future generations enjoy this amazing part of Winooski for years to come.”

"The Winooski Waves have been around since the 1970s. I started coaching the Winooski Waves swim team in 2013 and we kept the team going even when the Myers Memorial pool wasn't available. We've been growing in these past years and had our most successful summer ever with the opening of the new pool. The pool is such an incredible asset where our youth become part of the Waves family and contribute to the Winooski community in many ways as they grow into adults.” - Jacsen Callanan, Head Coach
